How did you find our group? 15 Replies

We have so many new families joining us, that I thought it would be fun to see how we all got here. We are with Everest Academy - when we joined Everest in 2008 they had a Ning site for Alabama Homeschoolers then last year we divided the groups and we were part of the North Alabama Homeschoolers. When those Nings were discontinued and the groups moved to Facebook I was a little overwhelmed and wanted back in my "cocoon" so I started a Ning for our Shoals Area Activity Group. I am the Shoals Area Activity Coordinator for Everest and Renee is the Shoals Teen Scene Coordinator for Everest. We wanted a place for all Shoals area homeschooling families to come together for support, information, and activities - regardless of cover school, religious or political views. We all love and support each other. I hope that you and your family will always feel comfortable in our group and will enjoy many activities and field trips with us. Each week we have what we call Fun Friday. We try to have one "road trip" per month - Birmingham, Nashville, Memphis, etc. We also try to have at least one free or really cheap activity each month. The other Fridays in a month are a hodge-podge of holiday parties, plays, etc. I know some of you have friends here, some we cornered at random events, some found us with Google. So we wanna know...How did you find our group? Continue

    What's Going On?

I am so excited to be gearing up for another fun filled homeschooling year. We have so many activities and field trips that we are planning. Some of them are local, some are in neighboring cities and some are in neighboring states. I understand that not everyone is up for an activity every week. Just join in as many as you feel is right for your family. With activities / field trips every Friday - your family should have lots to choose from. Our goal is to bring all area homeschoolers together for fun and learning. Our group is open to all homeschoolers - regardless of religion, politics, beliefs or cover school.

If you have any ideas for activities / field trips that you would like us to plan -

speak up:-) Start a discussion or send me a message. We are always looking for more ideas.

Field trip info: Please remember to be there no later than 15 minutes before the start of the event. Please have cash - if at all possible, correct change.

Check out our Cafe Press! We have lots of fun homschool gear. If there is something homeschool related you would like to have that is not in our "press" please let me know. A portion of the sales goes to help offset the cost of this website.

As always, if you have any questions or comments please let us know.
    Thanks!
    J
